Academic Excellence Scholarship Tier 1
Deadline to Apply: March 1, 2026
Scholarship will cover in-state tuition and fees for 9 credit hours per semester. The scholarship is renewable for up to 6 semesters. The scholarship does not cover books or the Pioneer Pack book fee.The applicant must meet the following criteria:
- You must be a high school senior graduating with the class of 2026.
- Have a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher at the end of the 1st semester of their senior year
- Have a 25 or higher composite ACT score. ACT scores must be on file with Admissions by the March 1st deadline
- Applied for admission to Jefferson State for Fall 2026 prior to submitting the scholarship application
- Applicants must upload a copy of their high school transcripts showing grades and GPA after the first semester of their senior year to the application.
Academic Excellence Scholarship Tier 2
Deadline to Apply: March 1, 2026
Scholarship will cover in-state tuition and fees for 6 credit hours per semester. The scholarship is renewable for up to 6 semesters. The scholarship does not cover books or the Pioneer Pack book fee.The applicant must meet the following criteria:
- You must be a high school senior graduating with the class of 2026.
- Have a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher at the end of the 1st semester of their senior year
- Have a composite ACT score of 22 - 24. ACT scores must be on file with Admissions by the March 1st deadline
- Applied for admission to Jefferson State for Fall 2026 prior to submitting the scholarship application
- Applicants must upload a copy of their high school transcripts showing grades and GPA after the first semester of their senior year to the application.

Chad Prior Memorial Scholarship
The Chad Prior Memorial Scholarship carries a total value of $1,500, allocated as $750 for the fall semester and $750 for the spring semester.
The applicant must meet the following criteria:
- Have earned a cumulative JSCC GPA of 3.0 or above
- Must have completed at least 12 credit hours at JSCC
- Must be a currently or previously enrolled student. Graduating high school seniors in the class of 2026 are not eligible for this scholarship.
Connie Beddingfield Memorial Scholarship
The Connie Beddingfield Memorial Scholarship will pay full in-state tuition and fees for up to 3 consecutive semesters (fall, spring, summer). The scholarship does not cover books or the Pioneer Pack book fee.
The applicant must meet the following criteria:
- Have earned a cumulative JSCC GPA of 3.0 or above
- Must have completed at least 12 credit hours at JSCC
- Must be a currently or previously enrolled student. Graduating high school seniors in the class of 2026 are not eligible for this scholarship.
Dora Virginia Hestley Memorial Scholarship
The Dora Virginia Hestley Memorial Scholarship carries a total value of $2,000, allocated as $1,000 for the fall semester and $1,000 for the spring semester.
The applicant must meet the following criteria:
- Have earned a cumulative JSCC GPA of 3.0 or above
- Must have completed at least 12 credit hours at JSCC
- Be accepted in the Nursing Program
- Must be a currently or previously enrolled student. Graduating high school seniors in the class of 2026 are not eligible for this scholarship.
Dr. Shailesh Upadhyay Memorial Scholarship
Tuition and fees scholarship (in-state) for up to $5,000 per academic year. The scholarship does not cover books or the Pioneer Pack book fee.
The applicant must meet the following criteria:
- Have earned a cumulative JSCC GPA of 3.0 or above
- Must have completed at least 12 credit hours at JSCC
- Be enrolled/accepted in an AAS health-related program
- Must be a currently or previously enrolled student. Graduating high school seniors in the class of 2026 are not eligible for this scholarship.
Dual Enrollment Achievement Scholarship
Scholarship will cover in-state tuition and fees for 6 credit hours per semester. The scholarship is renewable for up to 6 semesters. The scholarship does not cover books or the Pioneer Pack book fee.
The applicant must meet the following criteria:
- You must be a high school senior graduating with the class of 2026.
- Have a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher at the end of the 1st semester of their senior year, including JSCC coursework
- Have 20 or higher composite ACT score. ACT scores must be on file with Admissions by the March 1st deadline
- Successfully completed 6 or more credit hours in the JSCC Dual Enrollment program
- Applied for admission to Jefferson State for Fall 2026 prior to submitting the scholarship application
- Applicants must upload a copy of their high school transcripts showing grades and GPA after the first semester of their senior year to the application.
Elton B. Stephens Scholarship
The Elton B. Stephens Scholarship carries a total value of $2,400, allocated as $1,200 for the fall semester and $1,200 for the spring semester.
The applicant must meet the following criteria:
- Have earned a cumulative JSCC GPA of 3.0 or above
- Must have completed at least 12 credit hours at JSCC
- Be enrolled in a business related major
- Must be a currently or previously enrolled student. Graduating high school seniors in the class of 2026 are not eligible for this scholarship.

Jacksonville State University Presidential Transfer Leadership Scholarship
Deadline to Apply: February 1, 2026Jacksonville State University is seeking a nominee for the Presidential Transfer Leadership Scholarship to be provided to an outstanding Jefferson State Community College transfer student for the 2026-2027 academic year. The scholarship will cover the cost of tuition for four semesters, excluding summer, provided that the student adheres to the Jacksonville State scholarship requirements.
To be considered, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- The applicant must have earned at least 45 transferable credit hours and have a cumulative 3.5 GPA or higher
- The applicant must be admitted to Jacksonville State University at the time the scholarship application is submitted.
- The applicant cannot be a former degree seeking student from Jacksonville State.
- The applicant must be in good academic and disciplinary standing

Pioneer Scholarship
Scholarship will cover in-state tuition and fees for up to 15 credit hours per semester. The scholarship is renewable for up to 6 semesters. The scholarship does not cover books or the Pioneer Pack book fee.
The applicant must meet the following criteria:
- Have a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher
- Completed 24 or more credit hours at Jefferson State by the application deadline.
- Must be a currently or previously enrolled student. Graduating high school seniors in the class of 2026 are not eligible for this scholarship.
Presidential Honors Scholarship
Scholarship will cover in-state tuition and fees for up to 15 credit hours per semester. The scholarship is renewable for up to 6 semesters. The scholarship does not cover books or the Pioneer Pack book fee.
The applicant must meet the following criteria:

The scholarship will cover in-state tuition and fees for up to 3 consecutive semesters. The scholarship includes a one-time book scholarship of up to $500.
The applicant must meet the following criteria:
- Scholarships are awarded on yearly basis.
- Shall not exceed one year.
- Minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA after two semesters of enrollment.
- Completed between 12-45 hours at Jefferson State Community College.
- Student must exemplify servant leadership, based on resume, essay, and 2 letters of recommendation.
- Must be a currently or previously enrolled student. Graduating high school seniors in the class of 2026 are not eligible for this scholarship.
Troy University Transfer Presidential Scholarship
Deadline to Apply: February 1, 2026Troy University is seeking a nominee for the Transfer Presidential Scholarship to be provided to an outstanding Jefferson State Community College transfer student for the 2026-2027 academic year. The scholarship will provide $12,000 per academic year (tuition only) for two years, excluding summer, provided that the student adheres to the Troy University scholarship requirements. This scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with any other scholarship or tuition assistance awarded by Troy University.
To be considered, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- The applicant must have earned at least 45 hours of transferable academic credit within the Alabama Community College System.
- The applicant must have a cumulative 3.5 GPA or higher.
- The applicant must be admitted to Troy at the time the scholarship application is submitted.
- The applicant cannot be a former degree seeking student from Troy or any other 4-year institution.
- The applicant must be an Alabama resident.
University of Alabama at Birmingham Transfer Presidential Scholarship
Deadline to Complete the UAB 2026–2027 BSMART Application: February 17, 2026
Each year, The University of Alabama at Birmingham proudly welcomes exceptional students who began their college journey at an Alabama Community College. These students bring with them a strong academic foundation that equips them to succeed in the classroom, embrace leadership opportunities, and make a positive impact in their communities.
To recognize and support these outstanding students, UAB offers the Transfer Presidential Scholarship- a competitive award for high-achieving transfer students.
The Transfer Presidential Scholarship provides $6,250 per semester for 4 semesters ($12,500 annually; fall and spring semesters only). This scholarship is not stackable with other transfer merit scholarships.
Eligibility Criteria
Students must be currently enrolled in a community college within the state of Alabama. Students must also be U.S. citizens or permanent residents to receive this scholarship.
In addition, students must also meet one of the following academic eligibility requirements by February 17, 2026:

Who is Not Eligible?
The following individuals are not eligible for this scholarship:
- Current high school seniors
- Former UAB students
- Students who have received a bachelor’s degree
- Students pursuing a certificate-only program or a program that requires less than full-time enrollment (e.g. Joint Enrollment Pathway, Nursing Mobility Program)
- Students who have earned credit from a four-year institution, unless they did so while enrolled in high school.
Application Requirements
All application materials must be submitted by February 17, 2026. To apply, students must:
- Complete the 2026–2027 BSMART Application, including the “Transfer Presidential Questions” section
- Upload a resume and at least one letter of recommendation (via the BSMART application)
- Submit an official transcript showing fall 2025 grades
What Happens After Application Submission?
After reviewing applications, the UAB Scholarship Committee will invite select candidates for an interview. Awards are based on a holistic review of the candidate’s transcript, BSMART Application, and interview.
If awarded the scholarship, students must enroll at UAB for fall 2026 as a full-time degree-seeking undergraduate student (minimum 12 UAB undergraduate credit hours). The scholarship cannot be deferred to a future term.
Once a student has accepted the scholarship, the recipient must become an active participant in the UAB Transfer Student Organization and be willing to assist with admissions recruitment events as a Transfer Presidential Scholar.

University of Alabama Transfer Presidential Scholarship
Deadline to Apply: February 1, 2026The University of Alabama is seeking nominations for the Presidential Transfer Scholarship to be provided to outstanding Jefferson State Community College transfer students for the 2026-2027 academic year. The scholarship will cover the cost of tuition for four semesters, provided that the student adheres to the UA stewardship requirements.
To be considered, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- The applicant must have earned at least 45 transferable credit hours towards their associate degree by the completion of the fall 2025 semester.
- The applicant must have a cumulative 3.5 GPA or higher by the completion of the fall 2025 semester.
- The applicant must be admitted to the University of Alabama at the time the scholarship application is submitted.
- The applicant cannot be a former degree seeking student from UA or any other 4-year institution.
- The applicant must be an Alabama resident
Walter Harris Memorial Scholarship
The Walter Harris Memorial Scholarship carries a total value of $1,500, allocated as $750 for the fall semester and $750 for the spring semester.
The applicant must meet the following criteria:
- Have earned a cumulative JSCC GPA of 3.0 or above
- Must have completed at least 12 credit hours at JSCC
- Be enrolled in a business related major
- Must be a currently or previously enrolled student. Graduating high school seniors in the class of 2026 are not eligible for this scholarship.
